Bio
A sonic alchemist hailing from the mountain town of Squamish, Canada. Nathan's sound is a brew of many styles and influences, the result of years traversing the cultural realms of our world. A fearless explorer of sound, Nathan blurs and reshapes musical boundaries, urging his listeners to expand their auditory horizons. From Slow Techno/House to Tribal, Multicultural, Electronica/Ambient, and Downtempo, his music escapes definition, flourishing instead in the space where genres meld and morph.
Nathan's 20-year journey as a DJ, coupled with his education as an audio engineer, has fostered a unique ability to weave together diverse sonic elements into a harmonious whole. This talent, along with his propensity for musical experimentation, has propelled him to the forefront of the global music scene, with his tracks released on renowned labels such as Akumandra, Heimlich Musik, Cosmic Awakenings, MONADA, Resueño, Casa Caos, Shango Records, NUMA and more...
Beyond his original productions, Nathan is also an in-demand remixer, and a vital member of our Tremulant collective, where his work as mixing and mastering engineer for the Tremulant label is unparalleled. Nathan also helps to run and manage the label Random Collective which curates exquisitely crafted down-and mid-tempo music. As mentioned before, label bosses like Nathan have an exquisite ability to curate sound and find the sonic connections between music, making him a more well-rounded DJ.
Alongside his original productions, Nathan has become sought after for his remixing and mixtape/podcasts which has lead to several international gigs in Costa Rica, Colombia, and most recently his Europe Tour in October of 2018 which saw him headline The Hive, in Zurich and Slowmotor in Berlin. 2019 started with a small tour to Eastern Canada where Nathan headlined gigs in Toronto, Montreal and Sherbrooke. Arriving back in BC Nathan was one of the opening acts for Be Svendsen at the infamous Open Studios, in Vancouver. Finally he had the pleasure of playing the birthplace of Chillrave, Leveldva in Moscow in April.
In addition, Nathan is also part of Random Collective Records, in an A&R and Engineering role. It is a rapidly growing digital label releasing some of the finest artists, known and unknown in the slower tempo music scene. He was host of a monthly music night called Refuge in Vancouver, focusing on downtempo and multicultural, more mindful dance music.
